Thank you all for your sympathy and support. BB, that's all good advice. I have been taking vitamins, and Nyquil at night. Most of the hot remedies are off limits for me, my stomach won't tolerate lemon, honey, or tea. I did drink some Lagunitas IPA tonight with dinner. Sadly, it didn't taste very good. But I ate more than I have for days, so I'm getting better. Unfortunately, my wife was already sick, and now my daughter is coughing too. It's a small house.

Never mind, there it is.

However, alcohol causes sinus congestion, so you may be stuffy and drunk.
30 Sapporo's maybe, but if that article is correct, then drinking a Pliney the Elder or similar beer would probably work.

EDIT: Or anything Beer-Lord makes!

In the evenings I read brewing books because on the old forum there was a guy named RickBeer who had a bunch of cool links on his sig that got me interested in becoming a homebrewer. :p

Working in a hospital has its perks. Its one of the dirtiest buildings around to begin with and since our environmental/housekeeping department blows, its even worse. But being exposed to all sorts of pathogens and stressers allows the body to build up a immunity to many illnesses. I wash my hands 30+ times a day so that probably has more to do with it than anything. I hadnt been sick for 3 years until this past October. Whatever I got though was brutal. I was down for 1.5 weeks and grandpaps cough syrup(Black Velvet) was of no use. But the body is resilient and it won the fight. However I got sick again with just a cold 3 weeks later. Nothing in 3 years and then twice in a month. The second time was just the usuall cold and was gone in 4 days.

Vitamins and home remedies are a bonus to help the body fight but in the end its sleeps and rest.

not the kind of thing I want to hear about a hospital :lol:

I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber

Come to life and fade away;

Hospitals are full of sick people. I work in one also and can tell you that our hospital has union housekeeping and it sucks. I work in an outpatient part and all they do is change the garbage bags and toss the blue stuff in the toilets then go watch TV and sleep for 5 hours. I have come in a couple of times to our housekeeper sleeping on a hospital cart and then she got all offended that I had to start my shift an hour early and woke her up, like I did something wrong. :oops:

which is exactly why unions should be disbanded
