Cold crash in the garage only takes 8 hours though!
I don't have a garage! But I could just put the carboy outside the back door overnight, and that would definitely do the trick.

I nearly forgot the dry hop on the South Ferry. Actually, I did forget it. I intended to do it this morning, but wound up adding it when I got home from work early this afternoon. I'm sure it'll still contribute what I want.

Got the South Ferry Steam Beer bottled. Should be mighty good after the conditioning phase.

Also made a batch of BBQ sauce. This should also be mighty good. The ironic thing is, I didn't want to brew this weekend partly because of the weather, but partly because I just felt a little burnt out. But with the clean-up and making the sauce, I spent at least as much time in the kitchen as I would have if I'd brewed another AG fiver.

It's all good.

How long does the BBQ sauce take to condition?

Heh. Well, it's good to go right now, but as with most things that have multiple ingredients, like stew or lasagna or spaghetti sauce, it'll improve with age. That's actually one of the reasons I wanted to make it now. By the time BBQ season rolls around, it'll be even better.

Plus, it made the house smell like summer, and with the weather we've been having lately, I really needed that.

I don't have any lager yeast, and my next brew is a wheat ale.

Glad to hear you got the BBQ sauce done Dave and that your house smelled as good as I thought it might.

Been seeing on the news about propane shortages and price hikes and I was just telling BB2 I decided not to fill my BBQ tanks because it didn't seem right to hoard that when others used it for heating and brewing up north.

Hope that gets cleared up soon for all my cold weather Borg brothers.

Birdie, when I barbecue, I use charcoal and wood chunks. I have a propane grill, but I only use that for the convenience of grilling something quickly. I hate having charcoal burning for an hour after I've finished cooking plain ol' burgers in ten minutes. A tank of propane can usually last me all summer.
