Getting (read "are") Old

Post by Yankeedag »

You know you're old when:
The wife doesn't want you working because she thinks you'll be dead soon.
Your son doesn't let you do anything because you may exert yourself.
Your son doesn't let you do anything because you may screw up the project.
When you realize you don't remember as much as you thought you did.

Looks like I've been put on "geezer" watch. poop.

I don't know how old anyone is around here, and I thought I would never get old... it starts with being sore longer than I used to. Then it turns to geting sore easier than I used to...It took a while, but I realize I can't do the things I used to with the same disregard as I used to... I can still do what I want, but I know my limitations (for now)

I know that I'm getting more fragile as the years go by. I actually think before doing something, cause I know if I get hurt, it will take a lot longer to heal. Your family recognizes that too!

Dag it sounds like you need to find things to do that interest you which are away from family. Their concern for you is admirable and expected but it sounds like it is starting to make you depressed which is a bad thing if it becomes smothering concern.

Maybe instead of driving a truck you could work at a LHBS, you would become an instant celebrity in the home brewing community there.

most of those around here are family owned/ran. I'm not family. But yeah, that'd be great.

Rick, LMAO.
Dag, I hear ya. I felt about ready for the sod this week with a virus I would have worked overnighters on 15 years ago.
My story about aging is: "We're still here and we still look good!". A story that is just a little harder to stick to after Rick's post....
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

just remember this on your journey:

GETTING OLD AIN'T FOR SISSIES
im Leben Geduld ist eine Tugend
in Brau-es ist eine Anforderung

in life patience is a virtue
in brewing it is a requirement
