Super Bowl Sunday

Post by Photon Brewing »

Anyone going to the game? Whats everyones plans? While not a holiday and some folks dont do sports, it is sorta a big day now that we're in the duldrums of winter. A reason to eat and drink and enjoy people. Personally, Im looking forward to a different climate and setting. Noone does anything like NYC. And the commercials play a nice part to. I'm on call so will be exercising moderation but I will be with some family and friends so its sure to be a nice time.

I think the Broncos have it but it should be a close game.
I'm thinking the grandkids aren't going to be interested in the game but enjoy being with them. It was good to hear that news that they are free!

I'll be attending a 12th man party at a friend's house. Going there with wife and one daughter, at least one of them will be the designated driver. Should +/- 16 people there. I'm bringing a small keg of pale ale to the event. All the girls attending drink spirits & wines, so the beer will be for the guys, will probably be 5 guys there.

No interest in the game, may watch or more likely will DVR and watch later just looking at commercials if anything. Or perhaps nothing.

Just a few friends over for some chili, wings and beer. No sense in going some place I have to get there hours early to get a table and pay for something I make myself. Plus, when it's over I'm already home on my couch :)

Starting a pot of chili Saturday morning so I won't have to cook Sunday.

Staying home with BB2 and some homebrew.

Who will win? I don't know, who is officiating the game. It is probably easier to predict bad calls than pick the winner.

Wife and I will sit and watch at home. She will drink wine, I will drink lots of home brew! We usually fix up some natchos to munch on, some of these miniature weenies heated up in BBQ sauce and watch the commercials. Cheese and crackers somewhere in-between. Last year we tried a veggie/fruit tray, but won't do that again, kinda wuss' the experience. Oh yea, GO BRONCOS!!! In your face Colts..... Dumbarses got rid of Manning..... choke on it!

T8r, see if you can get a powered indoor antenna, and hook it up to your TV and watch it over the air!
It'll be in HD that way too!

Big shin dig here at the ol' homestead!
I took the night off. The last two SB's I was miserable just waiting to go to work.

We're having about 12-15 people over, mostly family.
Smoking 9 lbs of baby back ribs and deep frying 10 lbs of chicken wings for Buffalo wings.
Weather is supposed to be in the mid 50's with a slight chance of rain. Gonna feel like Springtime! :)
SWMBO's mom is bringing meatballs and several of the other guests are bringing sides, condiments and desserts!

We've got a smallish downstairs, but a 48" HD TV connected to my Surround Sound system which really sounds great
for sporting events! And not everyone is staying for, or is even interested in the game.
I'm very excited about this and honestly, I'm a Dolphins fan, so I don't have a dog in this fight.
It's about the party and this is the occasion to get together with family and some friends I haven't seen in a while!

Enjoy yourselves BORG! :borg:

I will be watching the game from the comfort of my hospital room!

New plan! If all goes well it looks like I will be able to go home tomorrow morning which means I will be able to watch the game on my new 50" TV in the comfort of my own home! :woot:

[Chuck N hangs his head in shame and in a low mumble says:/] I'll be at work.

But I got in on a board at work. $1,000.00 board. And I pulled 7 & 4 (or 4 & 7. It goes both ways)! First time I've ever pulled those numbers on a board.

I'll be rooting for the Seahawks only because I firmly believe the refs screwed them outa their last Super Bowl. And, being a Vikings fan, I know how getting screwed by the refs in a big game can ruin your life.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
