"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain

Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Really I'm kind of happy with it and it's the first time I brewed this. It does have most of the same taste characteristics as the Genny CA. Mine is a little darker amber, and not quite as crisp. I think I read somewhere they use Ale and Lager yeast both on that beer. I used us-05 at 60 deg. Personally I would have liked a little more hop bitterness on mine, but tried to brew it more to style. I brew beers like this for the folks that stop up knowing I homebrew, but aren't really ready for a real good heavy/hoppy/malty bitter craft brew.FedoraDave wrote:How's your Cream Ale compare to Genny?berryman wrote:Tonight I'm drinking my own Cream Stout and Cream Ale. Trying the Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro with a small cup of rice pudding my wife made. Definitely tastes better warmed up than cold out of the fridge. Not bitter like Guinness, but very thick.

Abita Andygator. It's a doppelbock, but it's a Helles bock... threw me off, but tasty as heck!

Some IPA I made with Nelson Sauvin.

Way behind on Science of Beer this week, so catching up tonight. Talk of GABAa receptors can drive a man to drink. I chose to drink homebrewed smoked wheat and gluten-free pale, hoping that if the actual process was going on inside of me while learning about it, I might have a better chance of absorbing it.

"Heart Of The Country" English Brown Ale:
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Since I made a pepperoni pizza, my Amercan Ale was the pairing... next up, Brown Ale.

American Wheat Ale; simple, yet satisfying. This is a variant of a brew365 recipe: http://www.brew365.com/american_wheat_experiment_3.php
I used US Tettnanger & Comet whole leaf hops on this one.
