Breckenridge Avalanche Ale clone

Post by Gymrat »

I was going to go by the clone recipe in BYO's 250 clones magazine. But it was all wrong. My first clue was a 12 pound grain bill for a 4.5% beer. Then I went to the Breckenridge website and found they listed different grains and different hops. So I am using the ingredients from the Breckenridge website and attempting to proportion them by how the beer tastes to me. Here is what I came up with. I didn't have paliside hops but I looked them up and Williamette is a good substitute for them. Plus at 19 IBU there really isn't much, if any, hop flavor so I don't think the type of hops used is all that critical.
