One of the problems with this PC world is people get all butt hurt when a reference is made to a dark time in history. Now with that said I'd have no problem with "Der Hopler"

Sounds like a great new addition to local beer scene, Paul. And the glass looks great - did you have trouble doing it with the thin glass that you guys have described these glasses having?
Re: Ghost in the Machine
Ron my laser can only do certain shaped glasses well and this wasn't one of them so I did have trouble with it. It's a very light engraving but regarding the glass, I had a number of beers in it today and really enjoyed the aromas that it helped bring to my nose.

I'm gone for the weekend and all kinds of stuff goes down.
Paul...nice write up on the Ghost. Looks like a great beer. And glad your laser was able to etch that glass, it looks awersome.
Der Hopler...well, nice name man!!!
And as for the Hop Juice recipe...I've got some ideas in my head, but they are still in there, moving around and trying to figure out how to come out and into BeerSmith. Patience my friends, but I can tell you we are really going to use a lot of hops and in a lot of different ways.

Re: Ghost in the Machine
So should I buy more hops or do you think the 10 or so pounds I have now will be enough?
I was talking to the twin today whilst brewing and we realized that although it's a hoppy beer, we can't forget the grain bill will play an important part. You have a weight on your shoulders with this one so a lot is riding on this. Your future could be in jeopardy as well as your standing in the Hops Hall of Fame. And don't forget, history will remember you for this recipe (not that I want to pressure you or anything).
Seriously, I looked at a bunch of hoppy beer recipes the last few days and one thing I noticed was how simple the grain bill was. Like 92% 2 row and 8% of just 1 specialty malt. I guess the idea for many is to keep the grain simple and hop the shyte out of it.

Re: Ghost in the Machine
Why put a bunch of different Malts in a brew if you are just trying to blow your eyes out with hops?

Re: Ghost in the Machine
I think the 10 pounds of hops should suffice. I just have to wonder if you'll have the right ones. So you may end up buying more. We'll see. And the grain bill will be really simple. It may just be one grain with a little carapils just in case. Or I might add a little specialty malt for shits and giggles.

You sure can help....when I figure the recipe out, I'll post it in a new thread. Then whoever wants to make suggestions or changes is welcome to it. Kind of like a Borg Collaboration.
If my brain was made of gears, I would have had to change the oil already, cause it's really pumpin' out the RPM's thinking about this one.
