That was too cool! And I've fished that lake many, many times. Grew up about twenty miles away.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

While neat, deer should be left to nature's process. There are too many and they destroy crops, kill people and cause billions in vehicle damages and spread lyme disease.

but they're really good to eat. I know old boy down here makes some killer bbq venison!
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Natures process means we should allow wolves to fully recover, that solves deer problem using the real natural process.

Except that hunters don't like nature competing with them for their critters, and ranchers don't like natures process very much either.

Deer Ticks spread lime disease btw, not the deer. A kind of mouse (white footed mouse) is more the real culprit, those mice just happen to like to live where deer live. The ticks exchange the bacteria with the mice - not the deer. So when conditions change that allow deer to start to encroach on an area more then they did before, the mice follow, the ticks follow, and then folks blame it on the deer. But it's not the deer, the are just the "big thing people see".

Coyotes will eat those mice. So leave Coyotes alone will help. So exterminating coyotes will help spread more lime. Owls and other birds of prey eat them too. So be nice to them.

Except if you get rid of all the white footed mice, then you will get caterpillar infestations that will destroy the forest, and lots of annoying insects that will pester you everywhere you go.

So yeah, natures process is cool. And way more complicated and interconnected then most people realize.
