Went to a small Rivertown tasting tonight...

Image

l to r: Old Sour Cherry Porter, Funk Vessel sour ale (Rivertown/New Holland collab, this one is Rivertown's version, aged in New Holland's 2012 Blue Sunday barrels, while the New Holland version is aged in Rivertown's 2011 Geuze barrels. Both used NH's Blue Sunday recipe with a Rivertown wild yeast), Trumvirate (collab between Rivertown, Rookwood Restaurant, and Smooth Ambler spirits... in the spirit of a gin and tonic, it's a wild ale with chinchona bark, juniper berries, persian lime peels, simple syrup and Rookwood's house made tonic water, aged in a Smooth Ambler gin barrel), 2012 Lambic, 2012 Ville De Rivere Geuze, Roebling imperial robust porter, and Hop Barrel imperial IPA (not pictured)

Right now, I've only got South Ferry Steam Beer available, but the Groomsman's Pride has been in the bottle for a little over two weeks, and I'm going to chill a couple soon so I can have my first taste test this weekend. And I'm forcing myself to hold off on the NillaMilk Stout until St. Patrick's Day, but I might not be so successful with that.

Drinking a dry red wine with the wife. Good stuff, hint of blackberries (which I love). Nice change from beer, but only for one night.

I'd love some of that stuff. Looks awesome especially when you have a growler's worth. And only 5.8% ABV? Nice session black.

Nothing but non alcoholic beverages, trying to kick what I hope is just a cold. If two days dry doesn't work, I'll try killing it off with RUM...

But why does two days dry have to begin on a Friday night?... :(

Triton Brewing's Double Deadeye Imperial Stout. Absolutely wonderful and a 9% ABV, warms the heart in this long winter. Last night at Triton I had a Bourbon Barrel Altbier, which was one of the 5 best beers I have ever tasted. Can only get it in their taproom though.
