What type of beer are you?

Post by Kealia »

Yeah, bored at work.......but play along:

Not what you like to brew or drink, but think of the old "Dating Game" show. If you were a type of beer, what type would you be?

I think I'd be a pale ale. Not the biggest presence in the room, sometimes interesting, but pretty damn reliable.

You?

I'm definitely a fit for an IPA. I'm in your face like a bee, buzzing and buzzing until you swat me down!
And, since I'm Irish/Italian, but my skin tone is definitely the Irish side of me, I am pale. Plus, on my mom's side, there is just a tiny bit of Indian......oops, Never mind!

That's a tough one. I'm not sure what I would be. I'm a really laid back kind of a guy, but I usually shoot it real straight without really worrying about what other people are going to think. In fact there is a couple of guys that call me Lo-BoH at work. It's short for L.B.O.H. or Little Ball of Hate. So I guess maybe I would be like a Belgian Golden Strong. Pretty easy drinking and refreshing, but if you have too many or treat it with disrespect, it'll come at you and remind you what you just did!!!

Well, I searched and took two quizzes. One said I'm Budweiser. I was a little offended, but the description that followed said practical, down to earth, and other stuff that was pretty close. The second quiz said that I am local microbrew, which is more flattering. But the description said that I am a Prius driving hipster (Blech. I threw up in my mouth).
If I had to choose, I'm not sure. I kind of want to say pale ale, regular, reliable, a little fun. But then there should be a twist, an edge. I'll update if I think of anything.

How about a rye pale ale? That has a bit of a twist to it?

And you haven't used LBOH for a beer name yet, why???
Damn good description.

Ok...get this. After John said he searched and took a couple of quizzes, I did the same thing. And check out what the quiz said (I guess I pretty much nailed that one, glad I know myself so well!!!):

What kind of beer are you?
Your Result: You are a Belgian Ale
You have quite a complex personality, which is what makes it easy for many different people to get along with you. Of course, the other side is there are those who think you are too wild for their taste. You tend to be sweet and sometimes even a little spicy (ooh la la!) and you never get too bitter at the world. Most Belgians we talk about are the Dubbels, Tripels, Quadrupels, and Pale Ales. They tend to be strong in flavors of malts, dark fruits, and spices and have a decent alcoholic kick. You might be: Grimbergen Dubbel, Westmalle Tripel, Orval, Trappistes Rochefort 10, Chimay, or Konings Hoeven Quadrupel.

Wow Ron....how in the hell did I miss naming a beer LBOH. Let it be said, let it be done!

Haha....I wonder if we took the same quiz on-line as I too am a Belgian Ale.

So, I thought about it a little, and thought maybe I should say Porter. But first I asked my wife, who answered without hesitation: "Porter"! Strong, reliable, blue collar brew. (How cool am I?)
:D
I do like the Rye Pale Ale idea though.

I think this sounds accurate, minus the part about being too wild for some people's tastes.
