My not so Secret Bottling Weapon

I finally got my pneumatic bottle capper finished and dialed in. Now before I go on, I can't take none of the credit for this design, I copied it almost to the T. I found this in BYO Mag. and here is the link with the plans and video. http://www.huizingh.net/capper/ What I did do different however, I installed a pressure regulator/gauge combination on top where I can monitor it, I built my own foot pedal using a used truck pedal and built the base plate and my own spring loaded air valve, and of coarse I paint most every thing I build John Deere Green





This machine is going to be a real timesaver and easier on the arms then what I have been using the past 3-4 years, but I still like my old antique and will use it on 22 oz bottles.

If anybody has any question on building one I'm here to help.

That is pretty awesome. Might have to look at that for a sumer time project. Nothing like working in the garage, drinking a beer, putting something together.

Actually no and I was worried about that. I started on the low side of pressure and worked up until I had a good crimp around 95 PSI. I went through a few caps to get it dialed in before I tried it on real bottling. I think the secret to not breaking the glass is keeping it perfectly straight and lined up with the capping bell, I'm working on a guide now.

TY, that's why I mentioned the JD green, I figured you would bite on that But it is a pretty color and a universal color for quality

Uh.... universal color for guys that pay 3 times what the thing is worth just to outdo the neighbors. For guys that like a computer on wheels so you have to pay over $200/hr just to have a nerdy computer tech look at it... (in defense of the rest of them, they are all like that now) LOL But yea, I agree, weed green sure is purty. I use da new green ones during the summer here.... sometimes ya just gotta stoop down.

Anywayz, sorry for the above. That sure is a purty capper, would love to have one like that if I did not keg now.

And there could be a problem with that also. After working a bench capper through multiple bottles hour after hour, one side might end up a little different size then the other, and really they (the twins) should always be the same. Not trying to scare you, but just stating what might/could happen with continuous hand capping. Be careful
