Miller Fortune - Golden Lager

Post by Trollby »

I know, I know is a Miller beer.

But I have to tell you that it is damn good for a Miller product.
If you put in a glass and said was a new Samuel Adams beer I would believe you.

My local store had it for $11.98 per 12 pack so price is right too (the glasses were there too, price $4.99 for two pack. I don't need more glasses)

I give you points for giving money to Miller.
That said, I'd try anything once and I believe in never saying 'never'. If Miller can make a beer that tastes like Sam Adams, there is hope for us all.

Not saying it taste like Boston Lager...

Just saying quality is what I would say Sam Adams beer is.

Best Miller I have had in a LONG time!

I had one at a bar maybe a month or so ago. Not bad. Not great, but not bad.

I have 4 left from a 6pack I bout 2 weeks ago
If someone told me it was a new Sam Adams beer, I would say its the worse beer they have made so far
Now I gotta find someone to drink the other 4
Way to sweet and watery
That's just my opinion
It is more like bud lite than Miller

I will say it is a decent beer for big commercial standards. Not great, but very drinkable.
Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts — queerest fancies,
Come to life and fade away:
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today.

They are pry off. My brother picked up a 6 pack of these a month or so ago and I was also impressed with them being that they are Miller after all. He had one and hated it so I got the other 5 for free plus the bottles. I have used them in bottling and like them in the sense that they are very dark, almost black. But, they seem to be thin glass to me like most twist-offs. One of the 6 did have a crack in it so I didn't use it. I probably won't bother using them a 2nd time around for bottling.

I was in the store recently and wanted to give this a try. In my head I was buying this but I ended up with Budweiser "black Crown" (see post here: http://beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... start=1470.) I got the two mixed up. I may or may not try this based on my poor opinion of the Bud version.
