Alot I didn't know about our three tier system and why alcohol is not treated like a normal commodity here in the US.

About the time I have myself convinced that Government regulation of any kind is a bad thing the American people show their sheep-like tendencies (or maybe it's more like their ostrich-like tendencies) and do just what the man in the big magic box in their living-rooms tells them what to do and buys just what it tells them to buy. Giving little or no thought to where their money is going tor what it is being used for.

To say the three tier system was created for inefficiencies which will keep people from drinking is crazy. If that was the case, the gubbermit would just add on more taxes. Someone who wants to get a buzz on will do so regardless and its easy enough to simply drink garbage beer and liquor, not to mention raiding the medicine chest in a pinch.
That being said, I can see bars opening and offering "everything but." It would be simple enough for the crafts to offer a generic swill for the few people who may go with their friend/mate to the craft bar who cant <yet> stomach a good beer. Shoot, mass market it and call it "House Swill." When I go to craft bars I see very, very few people drinking a Bud, since WHY?
Another reason I am glad to be a home brewer. Although it is not worth my time to lager a generic swill, I do try to keep a tame ale available for those who like that stuff, and keep it ice cold. Maybe I should rename it "House Swill" and get a jump on things.
