temp controlled fermentation

Yes BrewDemon and Mr. Beer kits are pretty darn easy but sometime you need a little help from the Borg to get you on the right track. Post your questions here!

Well the first thing I see is that you are looking at fermentation temps " on the cheap" so not knowing how you are managing your ale temp controls I'd suggest trying some temp control experiments with plain water in your fermenters and see if you can find a way to keep them steady with what you've got now.

The next, and the folks who do lagers will chime in I hope is that you recognize that time and procedures differ greatly between ales and lagers so it may be more than your fermentation control that changes for those batches.

Maybe you could get to a point where you do a Cali Common or Kolsch first and adjust accordingly?
