Re: New Clear Fermenter Now Available!
I think it's pretty funny actually. People are going to buy this, then wonder why they skunked their beer. After a few batches, all I checked was that fermentation had started and made sure it wasn't overflowing. I can't imagine covering the fermenter, then lifting off the cover and checking things.

That was my first thought too Rick. Unless they are going to market it for a line of ciders. I think the old MB had a clearish LBK. As long as you can keep it out of the light...

Hopefully the people buying this understand that it needs to stay in the dark. And then post some sweet yeast pr0n for us here on the borg.

The same ones that understand to ferment for 3 weeks? And condition for 4? And not to add cat litter to their brews? Or ask if it's ok if they ran their bottles through the car wash?

Re: New Clear Fermenter Now Available!
I wish it fit in my dorm fridge, because I'd love one. But really, it's just because I'd like to see the yeast do their thing one time. After that, I'm in the same boat. I don't even look at the fermenter anymore after I verify it's taken off.

Re: New Clear Fermenter Now Available!
When I bought my 5 gallon system, it came with two clear Better Bottle carboys (primary and secondary). All I did was cut a small hole in the bottom of a black plastic garbage bag for the airlock to fit through, and it keeps it in the dark the whole time. And if I feel the overwhelming desire to perv my beer, all I have to do is lift the bag up a little and take a peek.
It's really no big deal.

Re: New Clear Fermenter Now Available!
it'll fit in my fermentation chamber and like Bluejay I don't perv. not even to confirm it's taken off. I use the active fermenter to set my chamber's temp. so when it takes off the read out starts to rise from the 18.5 c I have it set for. so color is no issue.

I am drinking ale today."

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

If you ever figure out how to post a pic you could start posting fermenter "up-skirt" shots for us.
Ooooh! Be still, my beating heart.
Just edit to add (and I hope the Demon Brew guy reads this):
If Demon Brew ever comes out with a five gallon version of their fermenter I could be one of the first to order one.

Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

LOL, Chuck! I'm sure I could figure out how to post a pic, I just have no patience for it.
My point is, a clear carboy isn't an insurmountable object, by any means.
