Their Marketing is inept, not desperate. They are pretty clueless.

Damn it! Another list I didn't make. :p
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Me either! I would have loved to gotten that e-mail. I promise you I would make that marketing guy blush with the reply I would have sent.

They don't have my new email address... just the old one that isn't connected anymore. Maybe I should close my mB account...
The Nong Brewery defines "Fermentation" as: Making "Rot" a Good Thing

Agreed.
There's nothing fishy about this nor any reason to believe that it's a phishing attempt. If somebody is going to go down that route they aren't going to bother with a small list like MrBs.

What happened here is that somebody in the Marketing Dept decided that it would be a good idea to write an email in the voice of Mrs B instead of either MrB or the voice of the the LBK that used to go out.
It didn't come across well - at all.

But aside form that, I wouldn't lose any sleep about nefarious plans or anything else. It's just bad.
