My friend is going back to Japan in a few days so tonite is a good by at a pub we've not been to in a year. Perusing the draft list for things I may want to try was a black IPA (yeah, I know, this is getting old) and I'm curious if anyone has tried it.

I've had a number of Smaltz beers but they are hard to find in our area and this one is not available here (yet or never, I don't know).
It rates a 97 on ratebeer.com but an 86 on beeradvocate.com. I've rarely gone wrong with beeradvocate and while an 86 may seem good, I'm a 90's plus kind of guy.
