Two things I don't enjoy about brewing

Though it is nice to see two cases of beer there when I am done

Pouring a 50lb sack of grain into two buckets
Though once it is put away it sure is a nice feeling having all that grain available

Speaking of "best" batch...I need to be doing another bourbon barrel porter.

I don't mind bottling. My process is down pretty well, and even five-gallon batches go pretty smoothy. I don't even mind labeling all the bottles, either. It's "me" time.

I don't buy my grain in bulk, so I literally wouldn't know what I'm talking about here.

But all that washing!! Man, what a chore!

I don't mind separating my 50 lb sacks into two bins but I don't like bottling. Even with a beer gun after the keg is carbed is a pain. But, after having a keg, sometimes I do like pouring my beer from a bottle into a glass.
I don't like cleaning up the fermenter after I rack but it beats bottling 50 bottles I guess.

Washing and storing all of those bottles.

I brew more than I can drink. ( if that's a problem but it means I can't brew as often as I would like to)

One of the reasons I use 740ml bottles instead of 12oz... half the hassle.

Cleaning wouldn't be so bad if it didn't follow bottling.

Cleaning most definatly is my least favorite part of this hobby. Cleaning bottles or fermenters either way it is not that much fun. I am one of the crazy ones who enjoys bottling i actually find it relaxing and though it is time consuming i am usually listening to some good old classic rock and the time flies for me.

I guess I'm a little on the odd side (actually I know I'm a lot on the odd side) but I kind of enjoy bottling. The prep is a PITA though. But I like to look at bottling as taking the three gallon "baby" that I've been nurturing for the past three weeks and lovingly turning it into around thirty 12oz "babies". I can get pretty "fastidious" about some things and bottling is one of those things.

I am glad some of the kooks came out of the woodwork and admitted they like bottling. Most of the time I am in that camp. After all that effort, each bottle that is capped represents one that is going up on the shelf and will be shared with someone someday. There is just something about popping a cap and performing a pour that a keg just cant compete with once you are over the fact you have a keg in your basement. The main thing I dont like about bottling is as I get towards the end I remember that cleaning comes next. Blah!
