Beer Marinade makes Grilled Meats Safer

Post by BigPapaG »

Now this makes sense as it seems the meat would carmalize sooner and with less heat after being bathed in malt rich dark beer, thus reducing the formation of polycyclic compound.

I guess I'll have to start making five gallon batches then because right now I can't bring myself to "waste" beer for cooking. :laugh

On the other hand though, you don't gotta twist my arm to add some beer to most anything, so adding to my meat marinades is a done deal. :D

To...ahem...plagiarize a quote from "The Quite Man"....

"Would you like some beer marinade on your steak?"

"When I drinks beer, I drinks beer. When I eats steak, I eats steak. Thank ya very much."
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

I've read that the amount of carcinogens resulting in grilling meat is very low. You probably are exposed to more harmful stuff walking through the parking lot at the mall, or standing at a bus stop.

One more reason to RDWHAHB.

Oh, and let's not forget -- no one gets out of here alive, so let's enjoy our time here, and if that includes grillin', then the quality of whatever time we're given will be that much higher.
