Pipeline took a major hit!

Post by FedoraDave »

My brother and his son came over to watch MLB Opening Day with my son.

They helped themselves to some of my homebrew. That's totally okay, though. I will share a homebrew with my family any time at all. It's part of the reason I homebrew.

They were still there when I got home from work, and I shared a few more with my brother. Quite a few more.

We talked about brewing, we talked about barbecuing, we talked about music, we talked about all sorts of stuff. And we drank my beer.

My pipeline shrank.

I have no regrets.

None.

That is actually the fun of having a pipeline.

I love clearing the stock with friends and family. Within six months of starting brewing, however, we hosted a party that wiped me out, which was a tragedy so early in the brewing career. Funny that the last two parties we've hosted, I've been hoping to get wiped out so as to clear some inventory and give me an excuse to ramp up brewing again. Each time (last year and this coming weekend), several of the guys that generally come are out of town (they happen to be together on a golf trip this weekend). And the ladies don't clear the inventory... sigh... Well, there's always the wife's family. They cleared 100 or so bottles on the last beach trip. Oh... yeah... they are going to the beach a week after us this time. Bah! Foiled again! Maybe I should just stock the fridge at the beach house before we left...
