Spring Break

Post by FedoraDave »

I don't get one.

This is actually the onset of my busiest season at work. But SWMBO and The Bhoy-O get one, and they're going upstate to visit family beginning next Thursday. As it happens, I won't be working that weekend, so I get a whole weekend of Alone Time, which will be greatly appreciated. I intend to make the most of it, too. Saturday is traditionally my bottling day. Sunday is my brew day. I'm due to bottle a 2.5 gallon batch that Saturday, but I'm thinking I'd like to do that, then rack the fiver to a secondary and brew another fiver on Sunday, which will also help the pipeline. I need both FedoraDave's American Ale and Bit O'Bitter for the summer season, but I think the American Ale would be a better choice, since it would probably benefit from more conditioning. And I have the washed yeast on hand to make a good starter ahead of time.

I also intend to spend Saturday afternoon barbecuing a pork loin. I'll have a delicious couple of meals that weekend, and I can vacuum pack and freeze the rest for later.

It's been a long winter, and I need this time alone. Brewing and barbecuing, all by my lonesome. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, since you have BBQ and beer, I guess I'm free to come and drink your beer and eat your pork loin. Thanks for asking! :)
It's my busy season too and alone time is premium to me. I just want to survive it until mid June when I'll get a week off and travel........without any pork loin, but beer is part of the plan.
Enjoy your time alone.

If your name was Stan that sounds like a plan but since your name is The Hat then get down with that. I love alone time too and take advantage of it every moment I get. Enjoy and salud my friend.
