Just FYI
next week from Tuesday thru Friday we are going to lose our DSL as we switch providers. I will go crazy not being able to log on to the borg

Such hilarious visions clamber

Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Re: Just FYI
What a feeble and weak excuse! If you really cared, you could visit your public library or local coffee shop and sit there for hours surfing the Borg. You could ask your neighbor to let you borrow their WiFi for a few days. You could pay for overlapping service so that you never lost a minute of Borg uptime. Or, you could rack up huge data charges on your cell during the outage.
Jim, it's clear you've never experienced BORG WITHDRAWAL. When it begins, your mind will drift to thoughts of Inkleg in the shower (ugly, graphic thoughts, but thoughts none the less). To thoughts of some innocuous brewer commenting on how they think they might do something, or might not, and just wanted to write a few dozen paragraphs about it. You'll then begin the phase called "deep withdrawal where you realize that it may be THREE DAYS before you learn what Phil's having for a meal.
Jim, in this time of need, be sure that our thoughts are with you as you being this awful, awful part of your life.
Good luck Jim (where have I seen that line before?).

I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Yes JJ you will be missing me and wondering what scheme I'm typing about while you are down.To thoughts of some innocuous brewer commenting on how they think they might do something, or might not, and just wanted to write a few dozen paragraphs about it.
I hope you are only down for the few days they promised. Why, one time our service said we'd only be down for two days and.... OH, I probably shouldn't .... Nevermind.

Is it just me, or does RickBeer seem to be the first one to bring up Ink in the shower?

the town I live in is a wide spot in the rd. nothing here has free internet. SWMBO said we'd have to meet for lunch at a Subway in Columbus those days just to get a "fix".RickBeer wrote:What a feeble and weak excuse! Like any traumatic experience, it is indelibly burned in my mind. Therapists tell you to talk about things like this to heal.JimH wrote:Is it just me, or does RickBeer seem to be the first one to bring up Ink in the shower?

Re: Just FYI
I understand where you're coming from, Jim. LOML and I have started the process of gutting out 3/4 of the rooms in the ground floor of our (her) house. The house is over a hundred years old and has many, many sins committed to over it's life-time. So now it's way past due to have a good portion of those sins corrected. I'll be on here sporadically at best and in a few weeks may be gone for qwuite some time.jimjohson wrote:next week from Tuesday thru Friday we are going to lose our DSL as we switch providers. Try to get along without me.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
