Another 3 day weekend

Post by Beer-lord »

OK, you Catholics out there know this is a big weekend. I live one of the biggest, mostly Catholic cities in the US (I think NY and Boston may be 1 & 2).
So, tomorrow, many of us are off. I am! :)
Consequently, my Friday night drinking is taking place tonite. My Catholic upbringing is making me feel guilty. Alas, I WILL behave tomorrow and make the Stations (google it).
Saturday the family is getting together at my mom's since many have plans Sunday. RedBeerd and I will go there and boil 80 lbs of crawfish and try to behave. Basically, tonite is a test run for Saturday. Practice makes perfect!

Happy Easter ya'll and Happy Passover to my Jewish friends!
After a small stout, I had to enjoy a very good RCE hoppy pale ale. Ohhh, it's about perfect right about now.

Happy Easter to you too Paul. I too have tomorrow off, but will not be able to do the Stations. Because of my work schedule today, I wasn't even able to go to Holy Thursday Mass this evening, which is one of the most meaningful Masses for me. And I miss that.

Enjoy your mud-bugs. We will be off to my wife's cousins on Easter to do our traditional family get together. And I'll bring some Pliny clones with me for a couple of us to enjoy.

Enjoy your weekend Paul...and cheers to you and your family!!!

Happy Easter, Y'all
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Enjoy yourself (heck, that goes out to everybody).

I hope that you enjoy and celebrate your faith rather than suffer it like some people do (general statement here). I'm not a religious guy myself as I never could quite figure out what chocolate eggs had to do with Jesus. :p

You obviously missed the religion class where they mentioned Jesus loved chocolate.
I wonder why we call the day Jesus died, Good Friday. Why is it good? (I really do know the answer but many don't).

The wife says I can't say it's called good Friday because Saturday and Sunday comes after it...
She can be such a kill joy at times...

I'm Catholic, live in NY, and have never gotten Good Friday off. I'm glad it's not a Holy Day of Obligation, because I can't get to Church on that day. No meat.
