I popped the cap off and was glad I was outside. That beer wanted outta the bottle NOW! But I still managed to get a pour.
The aroma was really nice. Interesting, given the hop combination, I didn't pick up on any citrus or other fruit aroma or flavor. It could be because of my allergies but what I picked up on was more herbal leaning towards floral. The taste was the same as the aroma hop wise. This beer had only an extremely mild bitterness to it. I almost had to be looking for the bitterness. The flavor was really well balanced between the malt and the hops. This beer has a very refreshingly light mouthfeel. It is a really nice summer beer. Odd thing is, even though that very minute amount of bitterness was there, the beer still came across as sweet, in a very good way. This is just a very pleasant sessionable beer.

Well done Paul, well done.

Thanks Roger. I've not had but 1 of these from the bottle but the keg version is a little different (pretty much always the case with my beers). First, was it overcarbed? I only bottled a few and they were naturally carbed as I didn't want to wait until the keg was carbed to bottle them. Sometimes I've found that this causes the sediment to release all thru the beer which makes it less enjoyable. If so, my apologies.
I've become very fond of rye beers and this is the first that I've done in a lager like fashion.
Just grabbed a glass from the tap.....it's got a pretty good amount of citrus on it though not overpowering. And, I'm only getting a tiny bit of sweetness. For a beer style I don't usually drink, I'm liking this one a lot.

Hi Paul
It wasn't over carbed at all. But I definitely did have a gusher. This was in the fridge from the time I received it so definitely 3 days minimum. I popped the cap off and it started foaming and heading for the top. I had to pour quickly. I got 2/3 the first pour and after it settled down I poured the rest.

As far as the citrus. I am dealing with some serious allergies this year. I have to sleep on my back and when I do turn on my side after I am asleep I end up waking up sucking air through my mouth. My nose is at least half stuffed all day long. So I do know it is having an effect. I did pick up on an herbal, with a floral background. Good news is, if I smell anything at all your beer has a great aroma :) bad news is I am not getting a full spectrum. And as I said, the sweetness I am getting is in a good way. It was not over powering, it was noticeable and very pleasant. I could seriously have one after another of this beer. Which is why I said it is a very pleasant sessionable beer. It left me wanting another one.

Yeah, Paul doesn't skip on the dry hop. Sorry to hear about the allergies.

I think this past month was the worst I've had for allergies in years and even got a sinus infection. I usually suffer, but not nearly as bad as many and I've heard over and over this would be a bad year, and a longer and later one too.
Beer fixes some of that.

OTC Loratadine seems to help with my allergy symptoms most of the time...

Around here they are like less than $5 for 30 tablets (30 day supply).

If your doctor says you can take them, they might help.
