Introduce myself

Post by RickS »

I am 62 years old and I do not have a swmbo, I have had 2. I am new to home brew. I have been reading the topics on here and have learned a few things. There is much more to learn. I purchased a Mr. Beer kit, and have just bottled the Classic American Ale that came with it. I know that those two words are pretty much a thing of the past for most of you, but I didn't know better until after I made the purchase.

Welcome... there is nothing wrong with Mr. B fermenters or ingredients, so don't worry about reactions to that here. Most of us started there. Though most of us have progressed in some fashion (I'm primarily all-grain BIAB, some do full AG, some do extracts and steeps, etc.), some still do Mr. B (I'm drinking a Winter Dark Ale right now, as a matter of fact) or Brew Demon. It's all good. There are a wide variety of brewing styles here. It all makes beer. We'll be glad to help with any questions, and some people even display occasional fits of comedy for your viewing pleasure (most of them are dullards, to be honest, but occasionally... ;) ). All kidding aside, this is a great group of brewers, and moreso a great group of people. I'm glad to call them friends, and I welcome you to the fold.

Happy to have you aboard. We don't care what you brew or how you brew it. We will assimilate you and make your uniqueness our own. I don't have a SWMBO either. I tried it once, didn't work, learned my lesson, moved on to beer. :borg:

Welcome to the nicest forum on the net. I also started with MrBeer, and drank one today (just a bottle, not a batch). This is a great obsession. Study and brew. Before you know it, you'll be answering other people's questions!

No problem there Rick, you can make some good beer with MB, but you can make better beer and it's not that hard to do, you came to a good place to learn how to do it and there is a lot of good folks here to help you a long the way.
