Well get a bunch of International ingredients together and you can imagine what happens:
The grain temp was low and the strike water was warm which resulted in the mash in being luke warm so we reconvened and re-started with a warmer temp and a new round of mashing.
After the new meeting was over the resulting OG was not quite what we were negotiating for so we re-grouped for a vigorous boil in which hot break refused to end and so found a new point to conference and study with which we could rally around ending with a post boil gravity to high, which upon two rechecks provided two different readings so adjourned to the ice bath for tempers to cool and readdress which issues should be brought ahead the Irish had dropped the cold break way down so we discussed changing the plan and leave it behind, as the temperature cools and we think we've resolved the US-05 wants temperatures revised. We'll eventually pitch but now must decide how much to water down the wort from the start. If we get to the pitch it will go to committee and sit for several weeks awaiting a decision on dry hopping. The report will be forwarded to a department that determines Internationally agreed upon specifications for generally accepted inter-trade carbonation levels. Once these processes are complete the product will be transported to a testing facility where the determination will made that it is ready for release.
