They wouldn't give up any of this yeast!
The day started out at New Glarus, this is a wheat they have going in its own room for wheat fermentation only! I bet that was every bit of 3 foot thick Krausen! The copper top tanks re just tops from a brewery in Germany capping stainless equipment, they were going to scrap them when NG rescued them. First to last mash, lauter, brew and whirlpool, they can run six 3,000+ gal. batches a day. Then off to the second oldest brewery in the country, Minhas originally Hubers, no pics here, then ended the day at Capital Brewery, again no pics, not much of a tour there, but did see pallets of Briess grain.

Way cool. I'm doing a beer tour tomorrow in Brooklyn: Former breweries, craft beer, pizza!
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Re: They wouldn't give up any of this yeast!
'Twas a good day, found throughout that Honey Malt is getting to be popular, such a wonderful taste, with the craft breweries and can't wait to taste my beers that are still conditioning with some Hoey Malt in the recipe! It was a resounding NO when I asked if there was any way to get a jar of their yeast that just had beer come off of!

Sounds like a fun trip, how was the granddaughter's B-Day?

That was a great post, thanks. Seems there's much to know about wheat brews.
I love visiting breweries. I've visited Greenport Brewery, Great South Bay Brewery, Lionhead Brewery and Harpoon.
I'd like to make a trip to visit Dragoon out in Az, and say hey to Eric. Don't have the time or money, though.
