Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
So I'm not sure how many saw the weather we got overnight and the past 30 or so hours here in NW Florida, but it's rather bad. I did not see this coming, nor did anyone else really. My office was under two feet of water and all electronics we had are destroyed. We are an ACH processing center which basically means we process transactions for thousands of companies and we are 100% down right now and have no idea when we will be back up and running. Every computer, modem and telephone line we have/had is destroyed or 100% off line.
Here's some photos of the conditions during and after the storm went through yesterday.
This is a shot of my office building under over two feet of water last night around 8:30 or so. You can see how deep the water is by looking at the car in the middle of the shot
Water level line above the power outlets
We still have standing water throughout the office building
Downtown Pensacola last night around 10:00
And here is a few shots of the road damage that we could actually get to

WOW...I read that northern FL got 20 inches of rain. When you read that, it's hard to comprehend what kind of damage that can do. But the pictures sure do put it in perspective. Glad your OK!!!

Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Yeah, we got just at 20 inches in 30 hours here in Pensacola I believe. Luckily our house sits up higher than most around the area so our home was unharmed. Others, not so lucky. It's pretty bad and looks more like a hurricane came through rather than just a strong, check that, VERY strong thunderstorm system. It's pretty bad around the area and worse in some that people just can't get to (or out of) yet.
Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Damn, that's nuts. We didn't get nearly as much rain here in Orlando. Nothing so devastating as up by you. Glad to hear you are safe after the carnage, Eddie!
Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Damn had no idea this even happened. Glad that you are safe, and hope you can get back on your feet without too much trouble and expense.

Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
I am so sorry for your flooding. It's a very, very, very helpless feeling. I have family in Pensacola and are trying to find out how they made out.
I remember years ago when we got 19 plus inches in 24 hours but I've read Pensacola got 5" in 1 hour! That's crazy.
I lost my 2 story office to flooding in Katrina and hope and pray you don't get treated unfairly by your insurance company like I and others did. I hope you have flood insurance too.
If it turns out you need something you can't get in your area, let me know. You're only a 3 hour drive and I'd gladly drive over whatever you need......just ask!

Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Thank you all and thanks for the offer Beer-Lord. Where in Pensacola do they live and I can see how bad it is near them if I can. We live pretty much in the dead centre of Pensacola and were sparred some of the heavier flooding as we sit higher than most areas. Near downtown is bad. Near Scenic Highway is VERY bad. North Escambia county is pretty much out of contact with anyone due to roads either still being flooded or just plain gone at this point.
Another by product mess of this is now natural gas lines are being exposed and bursting causing explosions and other issues all to their selves. When rods are sinking they cutting into the gas lines and causing them to rupture and spew water, garbage, sewage and flames in some areas into the air. It's not good right now in many areas I can tell you that.
My buddy just text me this photo of some houses in his neighborhood. This was only three houses down from his house. Incredible.
Another one from earlier this morning near the north end of our county here
Here is one from a road that runs right along Pensacola Bay called Scenic Highway ... This is becoming an all too familiar scene around or area today.
Same place just from the other side of the "road"

Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
sorry to see all your damage. here in Minnesota we had 14" of rain in the fall of 2010 and went though the clean up for weeks. the houses next door to ours had 6 foot water marks in the basement. ours had only 28" but still had to be gutted. there were piles of trash in the streets for weeks. hang in there fellow brewer. I feel your pain.
Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Glad you are okay, Hope Pensacola survives this storm and can move forward to get things safe and back to normal. Hope Beer-Lord's family is safe and sound as well. Our positive thoughts are headed Pensacola way. Amazing the storms this past year up to now...super strong and powerful and very damaging. What has affected the weather gods to piss them off???
Godspeed and good fortunes to y'all in harms way.

Eddie, thanks for the offer. My mom has already reached out to her sister to find out how my cousins are doing. I've not heard back yet but think they are ok. In the past they've said they live high up. I'm not exactly sure where they live as I've never been there.
Wow, looks like the houses lost their foundation. Looks like sinkholes!

Yeah, that's some crazy $#\~...

Re: Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola
Stay safe is right. Best wishes that when it recedes things get back to "normal" quickly. I know how ugly it got around here with 24" over a 2 day timeframe some years back - if it came over 24 hours we'd have lost half our bridges.
EDIT: And in your parts, I believe you have to worry about the sinkholes that may open up later... UGH.

WOW. I'm glad you are okay, I hope that your business recovers. I said a prayer for anyone hurt, homeless, or grieving.
