How to find out how much to equipment is worth

What is a reliable why to find out what you brewing equipment is worth. I have 2 15 gallon SS kettles with Blichmann thermometers, SS ball valves. A 10 gallon SS kettle with ball valve. Capper/corker, assorted bottles (beer, Belgium & wine), assorted fermenters. 2, 55 pound unopened sacks of grain plus assorted smaller amounts of grains. SS pump (chugger) Bronze (march) assorted fittings & testing equipment. 6, 5 gallon corny kegs, 5# CO2 tank, 2, 5 gallon glass carboys about 50 yrs old 6, 6 gallon better bottles (4 new in box) 2, 10 gallon stone crocks, that are at least 60 years old. All equipment in excellent condition, well maintained.

LOML wants to make sure that these items are insured correctly. Me I am giving serious thought to selling.

wouldnt they be worth the price you paid for them?...or just slightly less being used?....maybe you could look on c-list oe e-bay for similer items to get an estimate?

For insurance, the value is the price as new. If you have replacement cost insurance, they will have to pay that amount. If it is depreciated, they still need that new price to start off with, and they do the math.

If you are looking to sell, check to see if anyone else is selling similiar items. otherwise, as much as it sucks, most items go for 1/2 price or less. At least that's the way it is in CT...

Depending on age and condition, the only items to likely be worth much more than you paid would be the stone crocks. As long as there aren't chips or cracks in them, I've seen them fetch a few hundred dollars at auction if the right person is there. The other higher dollar items (SS kettles, pump, corny kegs and CO2 tank) will again depend on quality and demand in your area. I agree with Gman, check on CL and eBay to see if anyone has anything out there similar. Then you can get a good ballpark for insurance purposes.

If selling, the worth will be somewhere between how much someone else would pay for them, and how much you would accept to sell them. I'm sure someone on here might be interested in some of those items...
