Weather & Aftermath Here in Pensacola

I'm speechless; been down that road many times. Glad to here you are okay though I know your recovery process will be slow and traumatic. BB2 and I will be praying for all of you and hope that you can get back to some bit of normalcy soon since the damage is so widespread.

Please keep us posted as to the recovery efforts and how you are faring. I know everyone wants to send items to help but it often is difficult to get to those most in need.

Man but this year has been bad weather wise, it is a bit scary to see such severe weather patterns that seem to last longer and spread further.

I feel lucky to just be dealing with drought when the rest of you have winter that won't end and these storms that just park.

Be safe guys I hope it ends for you all soonest.

Thanks going out to the entire family. My wife and I were and have been safe since this weather system came through last night. Obviously others were not as fortunate as we were. My "real" job is hanging in the balance and I will most likely be working from home in the forthcoming days. Not worse than a hurricane I can tell you that, still .... This is something that does NOT come along all that often and few places (if any) can prepare for the aftermath that follows.

We'll see how it goes over the coming weeks and hopefully life can get back to normal sooner rather than later. Again, thanks to the Borg family for all their thoughts and well wishes. They are MUCH appreciated.

I am very happy that you are ok. I have a son that lives in Crestview, he told me that they didn't get it as bad as Pensacola. I have freinds that still live in Pensacola, I am not sure of their address now but I will try to send off an e-mail to him tonight to make sure that they are Ok too.

Not 100% sure actually. My parents live in Franklin, NC (about an hour from Ashville) and they said it was actually worse there two days ago before this storm came through here. On the Weather (guesser) Channel they said it was moving rather quickly northeast, but the movement was hurting it the further it moved away from the warmer weather and breezes of the Gulf of Mexico.

Again thanks to all my collective on the well wishes. Working from home the rest of this week at my "real" job. So I have that going for me ... Which is nice. Unless they call for all of us to load up two-by-two on the big wooden boat I saw them building this morning

Funky skunk, my well wishes go out to you. That is a VERY helpless feeling. NO town can take that much rain and not be in bad shape. We have the pumps down here in south LA to handle more than most and we've had 3 - 100 year floods (not counting hurricanes) in 20 years. Personally, my house flooded in 95 from a situation like this week....18" in about 9 hours. Then I flooded again during Katrina (tho not from the levees breaking....rain water), so I know the feeling folks over there will likely have. And every time it rains, you still get nervous.

If there's anything we can do from over here, just give us a little notice and we'll do what needs to be done. People all over helped me and I've never forgotten what a pick me up it was and I would very much like to pay that back in turn. Even if you need some advice about the miserable paperwork for insurance, shortcuts, anything.....just let me know.

In the meantime, just know that people are thinking of you guys and you're not alone. Stay safe

I know those feeling as well. I lost a house in Erin in 1995 then again with Ivan, so I am no stranger to that. Not from flooding there, just from the hurricanes feeling I no longer needed those homes. Ivan totally destroyed that house, leaving nothing but the toilet which was a running joke for years to come.

This weather did not effect my home at all (thank goodness) as we live on a high point in our neighborhood and saw very little standing water at all near our home. Thankful for that I can tell you.

I really appreciate all the offers and love the Borg collective sending out the well wishes to us over here. We are pretty good to go though I want to thank everyone for all their thoughts and offers to help with anything.
