You May Be Obsessed

Post by John Sand »

If you find yourself at a beverage store at 9:20am, sipping IPA. And then come home with 10 beers along with the eggs for which you went out. But wait, (Honey), I can explain! You see, last week I saw Green Flash WCIPA on sale for $5.99 a four, usually $11.89. Now, I know that is because it's past it's prime. But, I've enjoyed some not young IPAs before. And half price! So, I bought two. This morning I was passing by on the way to buy eggs. (Remember the eggs?) And, having already sampled the WCIPA, I decided to get more before it was all gone. I got the last pack, and noticed Port City Monumental IPA right next to it. Alas, the young man informs me that it is not on sale, but I can try some on tap. I tasted it, and of course, bought it. ($11.99) As I walked up to my house, a road truck went by slowly. The driver grinned as I greeted him, and assured him that the beer and eggs were not all for breakfast.
Sounds like a sitcom, cause I had some 'splaining to do.

Never mind, there it is.

I think you should continue your trek thru the whole day and keep a diary so that we can follow and track your progress.

My wife is pretty cool, she didn't mind. In fact she asked if I bought more than one on sale.
As far as my beer day, I already drank a homebrew with lunch. The IPAs will wait. Though there is beer on the boat.....

Oh, I thought it was going to be a story of some kind of problem or something. Seems pretty normal to me.

Hey - You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.

Well you see Honey, this is a breakfast stout, and the one with lunch was a patters-bier so I'm only just now drinking "REAL" beer and it is already 6:30 in the evening. :p

I love that! I'm going to use it right along with: "You can't nap often if you don't nap early", "All food is good food, but free food is the best food" and my all-time favorite: The Viking Standard for Judging Alcoholic Beverages: Disregard color, clarity and aroma. "Is it free, and how much is there?" :D
By the way, I had two beers while working on the boat, and mostly helping others with theirs. (An Abita and the Port City IPA) and two beers with dinner (Another Port City and a Six Point Resin) The day ain't over yet.
