Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
I'm curious whether anyone in BORG land has used these hops together and what they thought of the
end product.
I understand that quality of the beer's taste is subjective, so was it a positive experience, OR
is this too much of a good thing!
Here's my take on it and...
Thanks BORG!

Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
I've not used these together and just tried mosaic fir the first time and find them interesting. And, I only have 2 oz of NS but this recipe looks very nice.
I've not used 04 in an IPA but have used 007 which I believe to be similar and it lets the hops shine.
Love to beer, I mean hear your opinions on this.

I've not used that combo, but Mosiac seems to complement the other hops I've thrown it in with, so I think it should be fine.

Thanks guys!
Too windy here to brew so I'll have to put this off until next weekend.
I will be sure to give updates as it comes along!

Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
Still want to try Nelson. It sounds like a really unique hop. Good luck on this brew!

I like Nelson quite a lot although it seems to be a love hate kind of hop for many people.philm00x wrote:Still want to try Nelson. It sounds like a really unique hop. Good luck on this brew!
Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
Love them! Phil, you gotta try and find something that has NS in it!
Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
I highly recommend Anchor Humming if you can find it.
Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
I was just talking about that beer today at the LHBS while I was picking up some NS hops. Unfortunately, Anchor stopped distributing it in the USA a couple years ago. I miss it. Guess I'll have to make my own.mashani wrote:I highly recommend Anchor Humming if you can find it.
From their website: "HUMMING ALE'S AVAILABILITY HAS CHANGED WITH THE RELEASE OF OUR NEW FALL SEASONAL, BIGLEAF MAPLE AUTUMN RED. NOW AVAILABLE IN SELECT INTERNATIONAL MARKETS, HUMMING ALE MAY AGAIN BE DISTRIBUTED IN THE U.S. AS A SPECIAL RELEASE AT A LATER DATE."

Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
Widmer stopped making their NS Pale Ale a year or so ago, too.
But, Lagunitas makes an AWESOME NS IPA that's only available on tap (sorry).
I do love this hop and now can't wait for Sunday when my NS Pale Ale is ready to go.
Thanks a lot ya wankers.
Phil, drop me a PM with your address and if this beer turns out like I hope it will I'll send you one so you can taste it. I use Magnum to bitter, then NS for the hopstand and dry hop.

Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
FYI - Firestone Walkers' new Easy Jack has Mosiac and I'm pretty sure NS.

Re: Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin together
My introduction to Nelson Sauvin was Mr Beer's Pilothouse Pilsner.
That was the first Mr Beer recipe that I thought didn't taste like every other Mr Beer recipe!
I was enamored! Big fan ever since!
Phil, I don't think you'll be disappointed when you do get a sample!
BigPapaG, followed your link and emailed Westbrook Brewing hoping to be able to sample their Rye with Nelson in a couple of weeks
while attending my daughters wedding in Charleston, but alas, it's not available this time of year!
It looks like they have several other tasty beers I might like though!
Thanks!
