The dust is finally settling

Post by LouieMacGoo »

I haven't been around the forum much with all the travelling I've been doing lately but I have been poking my head in every once in a while to make sure no one burned the place down or stole all the hidden beer. ;) Any way I just wanted to say hello and let you know that I am still alive. Also I wanted to give you a little update on what I've been up to. Right Now I'm sitting in a hotel just north of Atlanta, GA, heading back home tomorrow. This was just a quick trip for work so I didn't have much time to spend venturing out. Today I decided to find a good place to eat and stumbled upon a place called Hop Alley. This is a fairly new place, about a year old now that has a good assortment of brews and a pretty good menu. I hope I can get back here soon to try out some more of their brew. Last week I was in Brownsville, Tx where I basically spent every waking moment working when I wasn't asleep so not much to share from that trip. But the big trip I had was over the Easter holiday. My daughter and I went to London England and Paris France for the week. I was quite amazing, we had such a great time and we found a few pubs where I had basically flat warm beer that was actually quite good. I was quite a shock to get an IPA drawn from tap handle that they had to pump several times to fill the pint because it had no carbonation. The first sips were a little strange but the beer was so good I pretty much forgot that it wasn't bubbly. Well I need to get packed so I can head home tomorrow but I'm glad to be back and hopefully get some brewing in this week end!

Cheers! all :barman:

P.S. I'll post some pictures of my London/Paris trip soon.

What a wonderful trip to take with your daughter, sounds like you two had a great time.

But dude, I could throw a rock from work and hit you at Hop Alley. So how about a heads up next time you're in the neighborhood. I'd love to shake your hand and by you a drink in person.

Oh, jeesh! It's another "man-date" thingy. :laugh
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

First of all, glad your back in touch. Second, glad your back in the good ol' USofA. Third, why wasn't the borg invited?

I love visiting European pubs and coffee shops, well Germany ones when my daughter was stationed over there.
