New corny keg

Post by Beer-lord »

Since russki posted about his CL score and I had just ordered another new 5 gallon corny, I figured I should mention a sale that Beverage Elements has going right now.....$82.95 for a ball lock keg. You can save even more if you order the Class 2, dinged versions.

I wanted to order 2 but grabbed one for now. This is a good price since used ones can go for $55.

I ordered one of the New Class 2 Cornies yesterday, $67.95 from them, so what a little scratched on the outside. Today I find out a coworker is bringing me 2 used Ball Locks for $20.00 each! Looks like I'm gonna have enough kegs?

It's not the scratches that hassle me. It's the bent or messed up posts. Though I have about 8 spare ones laying around, for $15 more, and at the price it's on sale for, I went for new.
I bought an old corny and the out post was so messed up, I went thru 2 ball lock fittings before I realized the post were leaking and messing up perfectly good fittings.
But, you pays ya money and ya takes ya chances....ymmv.

Certain brands of disconnects need to be forced onto post and the collar manually pushed onto post to snap on but work great!
Maybe I had 'that' brand.

Well, B-L, I'd tell you how that new blem corny turned out but........ good old FUDEX has left me hanging, it was to be delivered to my place of business, yet they can't figure out even with phone calls to show up during business hours. Now I have had to redirect it to one of their print and ship location and pick it up on the way home from work if they manage to get it to their store before I pass that exit! Sure wish companies would let us pick the shipper we would prefer to use, had to drop fedex from our business shipping cause their service is so horrible here in Ohio.

Got my NEW ONE yesterday. :) I really don't feel bad paying a little extra for a brand, spanking new one but I'll likely replace another old one in the fall and will take advantage of the blemished one then.
I already have my AHA decal on it so that I look official.

Sorry for your headaches......hope they work things out soon.

So there I was in my LHBS last Friday. The owner said that everything would be 10% off on Saturday, National Home Brew Day. I had been eye balling two used cronies he had marked at 64$ and ask if he would extend the offer early if I had cash. So, with the brew bucks I had built up I walked out with two more kegs for 105$. I now have 10 kegs total. I'm going to need a bigger keezer.

Used corny kegs are getting harder and harder to find at a good price. My LHBS only gets a few every month.

The new Class 2 blem showed up finally, opened up checked it over, the ball lock connectors fit nice, no real blemishes, but....... I pulled the lid and noticed that the pivot straps for the lock down bail popped off the lid on on side on both straps, the spot weld did not penetrate. Took pictures and sent off to Beverage Elements, they forwarded on to the fulfillment center and I rec'd an Email that a replacement lid had been sent. I'll take to a friend who builds drag race chassis and have him spot tig the straps down and have a spare lid. And also got the $20 each keg from co-worker, both in excellent shape. Set with 5 right now.
