The weather is so delightful

Post by Beer-lord »

Wow, for us to be in the 50's at night and 70 in the day on May 1 is very rare indeed. Low humidity, Jazz Fest, lots of crap happening around town. What a great few days. After another crappy work day, I'm going home and the wife and I are going to take a nice bike ride and enjoy the breeze and a nice Lake sunset.

I feel for my Gulf Coast brothers and sisters who have gone thru hell the last few days with tornadoes and flooding. Going back 30 years we've had at least 7 really bad late April, early May flood events that happened just like this week but somehow, it just missed us this time.

Would be a great weekend to brew and I'm actually thinking about it but I just have no room for more beer so unless I really get a bug, I'm just going to enjoy the weather and drink some stock.

Here's to hoping your weather is a beaut too!

We had the same weather pattern here as well.

Took advantage and mowed the weed patch that used to be my lower yard. Our "guest" din't come out to see what all the noise was thank goodness.

Enjoying a Chocolate Mint IPA to help the aching back. :) In the morning I probably won't be able to move. :(

Saw that more of our friends up the East Coast got hammered as well so I guess it will be No-Name Storm number two.

What I hate is that there are a lot of states, like mine, that would have benefited from that rain and didn't get a drop instead it was just a machine of destruction.

Lucky you, Paul. It's been 90+ all week, even with all this rain we've been getting, so it's super humid, too. Blehhhh :(

Weekend is shaping up to be mid 70s and gorgeously sunny. Tour of the Gila bike race is going on, complete with a beer garden, downtown.

Just got back from a very enjoyable bike ride. Cool, breezy and relaxing. Next week it'll likely be 80% humidity and 85 degrees so I'll sweat up a good beer then.

HAHAHAHA... hope y'all enjoy the hot weather. I have not put my coats up yet for the season. Just went for a walk with the wife, even with coats on the wind was horrible. Have not even started working on the garden yet. Been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG winter.

Feel sorry for the folks getting hammered though, really stinx. ND sounding better to y'all yet? Plenty of jobs and housing to go around.

Minnesota, "The Land of Moderation".

Apparently we extend that motto to our weather as well. While the rest of the country seems to have spurts of incredibly bad weather for a day, an evening or a couple of days here and/or there. Us in the North Land stretch our bad weather out for months at a time. Nothing too bad all at once. Just irritatingly "un-good" weather spread out for what seems like an eternity.

If we were to condense our bad weather into one or two event like the rest of the country did we would have long ago been wiped off the face of the Earth.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

79 on Tuesday, 70 on Wednesday, 60 something yesterday. Tomorrow, graduation day at U of Michigan, is supposed to start at 34 with rain. It appears the rain may be over early - but the procession starts at 8:40 in the Big House so we may be getting wet and cold.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

I'm not going but today at 4PM Bruce Springsteen and his band are playing at the Jazz Fest here. The crowds last weekend and this weekend have been record breaking due to the beautiful weather. I did want to go but with work so hectic, I didn't feel like dealing with parking, crowds are the $55 ticket price---which isn't bad for a 1 day event full of awesome music.
Today may be the last, somewhat cool and dry day until late fall. So far, no A/C. That will change starting tomorrow.
It was a nice run.

Sorry and prayers for the people that really need the moisture that seems to be overly abundant
here on the East Coast this past Winter and now Spring.
Mid 70's here in Va with low 80's maybe tomorrow! A great break after 5+ inches of rain this week.

Was gonna brew today but the wind never settled below 15-20 MPH so it would have been futile
to even try.
Got grain ready for early tomorrow though! I'll get it done then Kabobs on the grill before work!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend BORG! :borg:

Another rare weather day for us down in the south for the middle of May. Got down to 55 last night and should be the same tonite. Normal lows are 72. Normal highs are 88 and today we might only get to 72.
Breezy, clear and no humidity. And even better, no A/C. I hope this all bodes well for the hurricane season and I hope rain comes to those who need it most.

Been getting hammered with rain since Monday, east of Cleveland but west and south have gotten it 10x worse. Really hoping this crazy weather takes a break soon. We go from 50's & 60's to 80's & 90's then back with nothing in between. Want to see San Diego type weather for about 2 months, mid 70's and sunshine!
