Bar Keeper's Friend
Last time I was at the store I saw where this comes in a liquid. It is a little pricier than the powder in the long run but it sure is worth it. It is way easier to use. I like to give my kettle and especially my conical a good cleaning with it every 2nd to 3rd brew. I did discover it is best not to use any type of scrubby though. I read where the blue ones are fine enough but can see scratches in my conical from when I used one. BF is gritty enough that you don't need any kind of scouring pad. John Palmer once said it is the only product available to the public that will clean SS enough to cause it to pacify itself.

I love that stuff. I have not seen the liquid yet, I'll keep an eye out for it.
I don't use a scrubby thingy either, I just use a damp washcloth. Seems to work really good.

I should look for this, although I don't care if it's in liquid or powder form, frankly. I really ought to get my SS brewkettles sparkling clean, especially the largest one, which is reserved for AG fivers; it's looking kind of . Next time I hit the LHBS.....

I would be suprised if LHBS has it. It is usually at department or hardware stores.

I always thought I was the bar keeper's friend.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

How does it differ from PBR? Which I believe I have, but have never used.

It is gritty and contains oxalic acid which is the absolute best thing for cleaning stainless steel according to Palmer. Nothing else we can buy can cause stainless to pacify.

Yeah, it's the best. Available at the lumberyard where I work.
