My wife, a wine and vodka drinker, always would have a light beer in hot weather. But, since I've been drinking better beer, and she always takes a sip, our tastes have improved. Tonight she said that in spite of being a wine drinker, she appreciated the "nuances" in beer.
I'm a lucky man.

If my wife takes a second sip of one of my beers, I consider it a great compliment. Usually she will smell it, make a face, and hand it back. One sip means it passed the smell test, two sips means it's truly a great beer.
The only beers she will actually drink are sours. Oh well... more for me.

Well, I do have to admit we were drinking a craft IIPA. But when I brew something really good, it means a lot that she likes it.

When LOML and I married all she would drink (beer-wise) was Bud-lite. Now I have her drinking, at least, Grain Belt's Nor'd East beer. But she still won't drink what I make. "Too heavy".

John sand: You are a lucky man. I was fortunate to be able to brew a 5 gallon batch of MB Rose's Ramblin' Red a few months back per SWMBO's request. God I love her for that request as it is one of my favorites as well!!! I felt like I could spike the ball in the end zone after that score.

That's great that she's noticing the differences.
I finally have started to brew beer that my wife likes. Last year she slipped and said " Could I have a real beer ?" Ouch!
Lately she has been asking for the Irish Red and APA that I made.

Janie does like what I'm brewing now, the recent Pale Ale, Irish Red, and Belgian Golden have all been to her liking. The IIPA we drank last night was from Great South Bay, an excellent brewery that I recommend highly.

Last Monday my better half (and she truly is the better half) and I celebrated 39 years of marriage. We dated for 3 years before that so we have been together for 42 years. We learned to drink beer together as teenagers, starting with Schlitz and Bud. Now I am proud to say that she shares my taste for good craft beers and likes a number of mine, mainly the more malty ones. Bourbon Barrel Porter is her favorite. She is still not an IPA fan like I am, but she is starting to be able recognize different hop varieties. I think I will keep her.
