Looks alot like the IPA glasses from Spiegelau, only not ribbed. :blink:

That's the same impression I got. But like the IPA glass, it definitely serves purpose. The ribs on the base of the IPA glass are designed to promote aroma and the bell captures it, which is the point with IPAs- to enhance aroma to the max. The smooth base on the stout glass helps promote flavor, which is what you want with a stout- to taste the coffee/chocolate/roasty flavors.
