More Brew Kindness: Grain, Hops Score

Post by John Sand »

I drove to Old Field today to pick up a gift of grains and hops. Another brewer is moving out of state and decided to give away his supplies rather than transport them. I was not first on the list to accept them, but one guy decided it was too far, another only wanted the Maris Otter. So I picked up 19 types of grain equaling 45.45lbs, 20oz of hops, and a case or so of bottles. I thanked him and he thanked me.
I love beer guys!

The guy likes brewing Pale Ales and IPAs, as I do. (Which is also good because I brought him a token of some IPAs) So there is plenty of useful stuff, and hops I haven't tried, like Warrior and Chinook. I may brew tomorrow. I'm even thinking of using both of my pots to make a 7.5gal batch. But, then, my buddy asked me to help him with his boat. If that's off, brewday!
