No Showers, just good beer and company

Post by LouieMacGoo »

Tomorrow I head back home after spending the last few days in the Atlanta Georgia area. Last night I was fortunate enough to meet up with Inkleg. We met at a LHBS (Brew Depot) that just happened to be down the road from my hotel and we then headed over to Hop Alley for dinner and a few beers. Unfortunately 3 of the 6 brews they make couldn't be served due to "issues", We made the best of it and had what they had to offer. We had good time chatting and exchanging stories as we ate. While we were talking Jeff mentioned Jekyll Brewing that was just down the road. When we finished eating I suggested we go check out this Jeckyll Brewery. We ended up at Jeckyll sampling several of their beers and took a tour of the brewery. I ended up with a Jeckyll mason jar beer glass and a tee shirt.

Jeff also gave me 3 of his prized Naked Cat Brewery beers and a Naked Cat Pint glass!

Thank you Jeff for dinner and your great hospitality. I was great to finally meet you! :cheers:

It must have been fantastic to meet the "Inked One". And I'm sure it was quite a relief to find that he wasn't wearing his kilt. :lol: :lol:

Looks like it was a great time. Good on the both of ya'.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

It was a MOST enjoyable evening, even with my clothes on. :lol: What a pleasure just to enjoy good company, talk and beer. Come to think of it most of the conversation wasn't about beer or brewing. It was about current family and stories of family growing up. How we got to where we are in our lives and how we met our spouses. It was if we were old friends just catching up.
Give a call next time you're in town and we can Lather, Rinse, Repeat. ;)

Don't think for a moment that Leigh came empty handed. I have one of his beers in my fridge AND some Beer Borg bottle cap magnets stuck on the outside guarding it. :banana:

Leigh mentioned he has met Chris also. So that's 2 of The Three Amigos down and 2 to go.

Jeff I must admit I don't remember which brews you have me? All that sampling seems to have impaired my memory! :beer:

I'm guessing Inkleg on the left & Louie on the right. Correct? Hope to meet you all. I'm the guy with the Yankee hat on. Cheers, Uncle Steve :flag:

I thought about that Leigh, there were no labels on those bottles.

SB = Strawberry Blonde
O = Ovila Quad clone
ZH = Zoo House Saison

Pretty neat when you can put words, faces and voices together with an actual person and share the creation you each have made. Might not be a bad idea Louie, maybe pick a centralized location from the most concentrated area of the Borg Users Map.

How fun that you two could meet up and sample some brews! Good thing Jeff didn't make you sample those brews in the shower! :p

Looks like a successful night all the way around. To meet the head BORG and the kilted one would be fun, even without beer (I really didn't type that).
