Drank Budweiser all night. It was necessary, I was at a fundraiser for a friend with leukemia, and they only had Bud or Bud Light.
I also bought some stuff I don't need.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

Im a hoppy camper! Was at Merchants Fine Wine returning all my weird craft bottles (they pretty much accept anything) and lo and behold came across a 12-pack of Sam Adams Latitude 48 Deconstructed. For those who may not know, it is basically six 2-packs. One 2-pack is their Latitude 48 IPA. The others use the same base wort but showcase the 5 different hops. I was looking for this several months ago when I found out we had a couple thousand pounds of Zeus to sell, as it had a Zeus-only brew and I had never brewed with Zeus. To get maximum effect, I will most likely have to polish this off in one extended sitting. Of course, half of the 12-pack will be offered up to fellow hophead in crime SWMBO. Hoppy Birthday to ME!

I started with a bottle of English Strong Ale bottled 11/27/11. This was was the fall seasonal for 2011, and I had lost this bottle behind some others in the basement. After 2 1/2 years in the bottle it was still quite good.

Now I am drinking a Wee Heavy at 4 weeks in the bottle and am noticing more hop flavor than I expected. I need to pull up my notes on the computer to see what hops I used. Actually I like this better than my last Wee Heavy batch, so I need to see if I did anything different. I think I may have dry hopped this one, which was not part of the original recipe.

Wow, all these people with dead/empty pipelines. Very sad. :(

While my pipeline is doing ok, my breadth of beers has dwindled as I finish off old Mr. Beer batches that I won't be making again. Today I reached a milestone when my refrigerator inventory only filled one shelf (5 beers deep on that shelf, 6th beer of each type that has enough inventory on the next shelf). My sons have been devasting my pipeline, but the one just left for new horizons with his girlfriend so that consumption goes away. The two of them would drink 8 - 10 beers per visit. Quite upsetting.

Current brewing batch is unfortunately going to my younger son's inventory, so my pipeline gets no help. And unless I get my controller built and figure out either how to brew at my in-laws or I bring their freezer home, I'm done brewing for 2 - 2 1/2 months. Good thing I have 11.3 cases in inventory.
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Looks nice Alb - I just had a Long Trail Blood Orange IPA very nice & a Firestone Walker Easy Jack Session IPA which was delicious. Firestone Walker never disappoints.
Now that I'm back home I had to sample my "Apocalypto 7" - It's so good I'm not sharing.

Bit O' Bitter. Light and crisp; very good after a day working out in the heat and humidity.
