Thanks guys, it was a great service. Mostly family and friends got up and spoke of Cecil and his life. We cried, we laughed, we laughed so hard we cried. Even Judy his wife spoke, which is not normal at a service, but he was above normal. The man was smart and quick witted beyond comprehension, with an enjoyment of life and humor to go with it. There were napkins on the table that had "That's what she said last night" printed on them.

As I sit here missing my friend, I raise a glass in honor and memory of him. And I know that all of you who read this post will do the same and I Thank You.

Again, so sorry for your loss. Friends like that don't come around often so keep all the good memories.
Since I can't drink and toast tonite, and I am tomorrow, I will most definitely toast Cecil and all his great friends.

Sorry for your loss, Jeff :( May your friend rest peacefully. The napkins sound like a nice cheerful touch to a somber situation. Helps ease the pain. A toast to Cecil!

Yesterday I performed my first wheel alignment on my own, so I'm really happy about it. Personal victory, and a step forward in the direction I want to take.

Have y'all seen the new trend going on?
On mother's day, they were wishing Dads a "happy mother's day" and now they are wishing mothers a "happy father's day".
that pisses me off. You can be a fantastic Mother or Father... that doesn't give claim to something you're not.
Just venting.

Goodbye Dear Friend, you are missed by all who crossed your path. :barman:
Didn't see this before. Condolences, Jeff. And remember that we mourn not for the departed, but for we who are left behind, a little bit empty from the loss of one who filled our lives with their presence.

Yeah, I've seen this too. Single moms should be given all the props they deserve; raising a kid is hard work with a partner. Doing it on your own has to be a real bitchkitty.

But mothers are not fathers. Sorry, but this offends me. It offends me because I'm the father of two people, and I made every effort to be the best damn Dad I could be. I know I couldn't take the place of a Mother, and I don't expect any recognition on Mother's Day. My mom, my wife, my sister, my sisters-in-law, they deserve all the recognition on that day. God bless you, Moms.

But I'm a man, dammit. I'm a father, dammit. And that's a roll that only a responsible man can take. Just because some men weenie out and abandon their families doesn't mean that your mom can step in and be a father.

Man, I can't explain all of the subtleties, but I just know that it's true.

I just know.

After working on my jeep for close to a month I took in on a short maiden voyage to the store. I put new brakes on it and I put some shop rags around the master cylinder so I wouldn't get brake fluid on my freshly painted frame. Well I got to the store and I smelled something hot, I also put all new exhaust on it so I thought that was what I was smelling, but no I seen flames under the hood, I ran into the store and said I need a fire extinguisher because I have a vehicle fire, the dingbat girl at the register kept pointing to the fire department which is next door and I was next to their gas island so I ran out and looked and no extinguisher, a guy was fueling up right next to my on fire jeep and I yelled I need a fire extinguisher and he acted like he didn't hear me and by this time it was burning a lot. I ran back into the store and said I need a fucking fire extinguisher now, well another store employee, a young guy came running out and handed me a fire extinguisher and I put it out with very little damage done. He said the girl thought I just wanted to know where the fire department was or I was just joking, idiot people. Yes my fault I left an oily rag on the exhaust, but also dumb people when there is an emergency and they just dumb out.
I've had fire extinguishers in my vehicles for years and never had to use one and wouldn't you know I didn't have one in this jeep and needed one. There's one in there now. .. sorry for the long rant, but this is why I need to drink a homebrew, opps wrong thread :)

Yeah, but it's a dry heat.
We'll be in the low 90's all week but our low temps at night only go down to about 78. And, it's not even summer yet!
Oh, the humidity makes it feel like it's 10 degrees warmer too.

That's what I like about the south west, a lot of heat (I like it warm) but no humidity, it was in the 80's here today and 90% humidity, it was hard to work. I like the heat and just drink
a lot of water and its good with no humidity, out west and south, but not here.
