Homebrewer happiness is....

Post by FedoraDave »

When you like a 2.5 gallon experimental batch so much you decide to make it again, but this time you double all the ingredients and make it a five-gallon batch, and you hit the first OG right on the nose, and get a perfect full-volume AG batch.

This was a good brew day. A little manic toward the end, but the minor adjustments worked, and really, that's what made it such a good brew day.

I do love this hobby! :fedora:

I bow to the Sensei of Brewing, you sent some good karma west! AG Pale Ale this is the first time I hit the OG AND volume dead nuts! Usually I need to top with half gallon or so to get to the volume and bring the OG down to projected. Five and a half gallons and 1.057 OG!

Never doubt the Karma of The Hat.

Good job, Steve. It's always a good omen when you hit a good pre-boil volume and wind up with the projected OG. That's brewin' strong, my friend.

When you make a beer and it looks like this: Image
When you give it to a stranger as an extra in a trade and he reviews it like this: "Completely inappropriate name. 'effing' phenomenal berliner. Raspberry flavor is incredible. Trade w/him @jivex5k on BA."
When you realize you can do it again until the end of time.

(I named the beer Heavy Flow, it's on Untappd and it's my rapper name, don't judge!)

Thanks man! I'm really blown away by the positive feedback on it. I just got a trade request for some because of the guy I traded already spreading the word about it, kind of made my morning. I may have lost a batch last night but who cares, I'll be replacing it tonight. And no cardboard box this time LOL.
