Love handles
No, not that little roll of blubber around my waist. I'm talking about how my tap handles arrived from Midwest Supplies today, and I LOVE THEM!
I got the 6" natural oak handles. Since I'm going to be putting a 1X8 piece of oak on the collar, and I decided to use clear veneer rather than any kind of stain, they should complement the whole scheme.
My brother Ed came over after golfing yesterday for burgers and homebrew, and he got a look at the freezer, and said he's got the whole build scoped out. Now it's just a matter of him being able to find the time to do the measurements, give me a parts list, and then build the thing.
I'm really getting excited about this!

When I read "Love Handles" I thought you were addressing me! I was going to reply that I asked you not to call me that on the forum. Anyway, glad you enjoy your new purchase. Please return to your regular programming.

Re: Love handles
It would appear the build is going to suffer an unavoidable delay. I just found out via Facebook that Ed needed six stitches in his hand last night. He must have been involved in some project at home, likely reconditioning one of his guitars. I'm sure he'll make a full recovery and still be able to rip his awesome blues riffs, but I don't imagine he'll be able to work with power tools for at least a couple of weeks.
C'est la vie.

Sounds great. Post pics when it's done.
I just stayed with a regular tap handle that came with the tap. I'm lazy.

Re: Love handles
My faucet didn't come with a handle! I expected it to have the sort-of standard black plastic (or ceramic) pub handle. But I would have gotten the wooden ones anyway, on accounta coz I like 'em.Tabasco wrote:Sounds great. Post pics when it's done.

Re: Love handles
Back in "the day" what we referred to as "love handles" most every one else called "ears".
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
