Frustrated...

Post by jivex5k »

I need to brew! I lost my damn batch last week....
I planned on getting grains to rebrew on Sunday because I went to the local homebrew store/brewery on Sunday to help brew. That was an awesome experience, especially learning a real brewery isn't too far off from what I do, but they were out of wheat grain....
There is another store way up north but it closes by the time I get off work.....
I need to brew! Freakin wheat shortage bah...

You could sub out for wheat extract... If need be...

Or maybe a different wheat like white wheat, red wheat or spalt (ancient wheat)?

Yeah that's a solid idea but they don't have any kind of wheat =(
Pretty lame, first time they were out of something I needed. Extract...nah...can't go back. My beers turned out too good with AG, like waaay better.

I wonder if I can make a Berliner with like, oh IDK, 100% 2 row....

Stop by here. I have some wheat malt I could spare.
But if it's a little far, I'd use the extract, or make something else. I usually think I know what my next batch is, until I don't.

Never mind, there it is.

At this point im considering 100% 2 row for the berliner.
Someone else suggested subbing the wheat with vienna and the pilsen (which they are also out of somehow) with 2 row.

I feel for ya. All I have is 2-row, and still no lhbs opening up like was supposed to happen. Another smash coming up for me soon.
