Better by Blending

Post by John Sand »

Last year I brewed a modified HME+DME+hops. It didn't work out well. I think I put the hops in a tea ball, and they swelled, preventing through flow. I kept hoping it might improve, it hasn't. It's not bad, it's just not good. I also have some "Session IPAs" that I don't much care for. Today the little light went on in my head (dimly), and I poured the two together. Bingo! Good color, aroma, flavor. My Chief Taste Tester (wife), deemed it "yummy". I know this is not a new procedure. I'm just very pleased how well it works.
