Poll: BeerBorg Commercial Favorite - Round of 32+, Bracket 4

Post by Crazy Climber »

**Bracket 4 has more than 8 entries -- the bottom two head-to-head matchups are three-way-dances - pick one of the three.**
Vote for your personal favorite in each head-to-head matchup.
This poll will be open for 7 days.
You can abstain from any matchup where you don't feel your vote is appropriate (unfamiliar with one or both beers, don't have a preference, etc.).
I've taken all of the nominated beers and used http://www.random.org to randomize the list, to determine the brackets.

The winner of each matchup will advance to the round of 16. The winner of the final round will be crowned as the BeerBorg.com Favorite Commercial Beer of All-Time. Or, maybe not. More like, it will be the winner of this decidedly un-scientific poll, and nothing more.

In addition to your vote, feel free to reply to this thread with your thoughts on why you voted the way you did, or any other comments about the beers involved.

Remember, it ain't rocket science - it's beer. Let the July Madness begin!

As much as I love Anchor Steam I had to give this one to Bear Republic's Racer 5. While AS is more of a session beer, the IPA wins this round for me!

Went with Founders Breakfast Stout. Though I like the KBS more, finding it is like winning the lottery. And if you can, they (the greedy store owners) want $ 7-10 dollars for a 12oz bottle.
Naked Cat Brewery On Tap
Yazoo Sue Smoked Porter
Octoberfest
Le Petite Saison
Czech Pale Lager
A Toast to Big Fuzzy Russian Imperial Stout at 10%
Belgian Blond
Flower Power IPA
4 Kilts Clueless Belgian Strong
One Wort Two Yeast with Wyeast 2206
One Wort Two Yeast with WLP940

I got lucky and found 2 four packs of KBS this year for 8.99
I asked the manager if he was sure that was the right price and he said yeah it was so I got to take them guilt free!
I still think it was the wrong price but hey, I asked him if he was sure.

Less than 24 hours left to vote!

Pick one each from match-ups A, B, C, D. Winners move on to the Round of 16.

A) Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout VS. Fat Heads - Headhunter IPA
A stout beating an IPA, but it's not over yet.

B) Bear Republic - Racer 5 VS. Founders - Breakfast Stout
Dead even heading down the stretch!! The closest match-up of all sixteen, thus far.

C) This is a three-way match-up:
Founders - Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) VS. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale VS. Widmer Brothers - Brrr Seasonal Ale
SNPA with the most votes of any beer thus far, despite having two competitors. Looks like a lock for Sweet Sixteen action.

D) This is a three-way match-up:
Anchor Steam VS. Goose Island - Bourbon County Brand Stout VS. Sam Adams Boston Lager
Goose Island Stout ahead of two craft brew mainstays - surprising!!
