I'm going to test bottling one and see how it works. I've been having issues with the beer being really low car'b when I bottle from the keg. If it works out I'll send one your way to tempt you.

Re: First Pour Thread
This came out nice!. The Nelson Sauvin hops lend a tart grape quality to aroma and taste. Some very light spice underneath with a dry finish. These won't last long.

This is light and very drinkable. Fruit with a little spice. I was hoping for a bit more complexity, as it finishes a bit thin. Although it is getting better as it conditions.

Oktoberfest is ready! Sweet and malty. I'm really happy how this turned out. It's an ale using dusseldorf yeast. These are gonna go quick this fall.

This looks and sounds great. Danstar Belle Saison yeast is a beast! How do you like the Glacier hops?Rebel_B wrote:SMaSH Saison tonight; Pale Malt, Glacier whole leaf hops, & Danstar Belle Saison yeast. A refreshing cool drink after a long day of work. My Stone Levitation clone.......good news, IT DOESN'T SUCK. But, I do know this, IT IS NOT LEVITATION.....just not hoppy enough. More about my thoughts in another thread. But, it needs at the very least, another week in the keg as it's only 5 days old. I think it'll be best in about 3-4 more weeks.
Definitely an improvement over last year's try and my first brew using my freezer to watch the temps. I'd like it to be hoppier and I may even add some hops in the keg in about a week after I taste it again in 5-7 days.
The pic makes it look lighter than it is since the sun is hitting it in it's face.

Re: First Pour Thread
This is actually the third pour on this one, my Pumpkin Rye Saison. I tried one after 2 weeks, and it wasn't ready. Now, it's starting to come around. It's very dark, but with a rich ruby/amber in the light. It has some dark fruit like plum or raisin with a little chocolate. Not much pumpkin came through. Spice is very subdued from the rye and pumpkin pie spice. It's definitely an unusual combo with the T58 yeast, but I think I'm liking this more than I thought I would after my first tasting. Not the traditional pumpkin ale, but that's ok.

First pour of Tabby, my hefeweizen! Only a week in the bottle but it's shaping up to be a delicious beer I may need to keep around all year. Banana and spicy are pretty balanced and has a really nice but subtle bready malt aroma. Maybe I'll brew this again in the spring to stock up for the summer.
Even at just a week in the bottle, the carbonation was superb and the head was bright white and thick.

DUDE! If I didn't have my brew gear all packed up I would be shooting you some serious PM inquiries about this beer. I am a rye beer freak like some are for sours and am very intrigued about your creative thought process in designing this recipe especially to the point that it becomes a dark beer, which by the way, like your label talent, looks AWESOME.Ibasterd wrote:This is actually the third pour on this one, my Pumpkin Rye Saison. Kudos to your cleverness and thanks for sharing.
