Heat Stick

Post by radonc73 »

I have seen several threads on othersites about making one. I am not that good with DIY projects and was looking at maybe getting a bucket heater or larger like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Allied-Precisio ... 3a8f619ef2
Any thoughts on this setup? I see one on Tractor supply for $24 but does anyone know if this would work?

Ya, I was going to use it to speedup my boil as it takes too long and I never really get to a "rolling"boil. I look for the first boil bubble to start my brew like the instructions say but I can not get the temp to get a hot break like I see on youtube videos. I think if I added this to my burner it would make life much better. I see that this one would float on top so I could have top and bottom heat going. If I can buy something off the shelf that would be better than trusting that I am not going to electrocute myself with my hillbilly engineering I would spend the little extra cash for the safety.
