Thanks everyone for the support and well wishes!! For now I gotta wait 7 months for the baby to be born. Then I gotta wait a couple more decades to show my kid how to brew!

Couple more decades?!?! Nah! Start 'em young, I say! S/he can help you with hops boils as soon as s/he's old enough to work a stove.

Congratulations! I know I will never forget the true miracle of birth that I experienced with both of my kids.

Perhaps you should name the baby "Porter" or "Brett" because of the 9 month " conditioning " time :)

You don't have to wait that long to teach the new brewer. Just can't let them sample.
The Nong Brewery defines "Fermentation" as: Making "Rot" a Good Thing

:borg: Welcome to the BeerBorg Information Center. You will be assimilated. Resistance is Quite Futile: WE have BEER.

True. Just being overly cautious, I guess.

Get 'em on the hand crank of the grinder at three or four...

Tossing in hop sacks at six, weighing them (and grains) at seven...

They can check temps at eight fairly safely...

Brewday recording and notes at ten...

At fifteen, they're carrying carboys, cases... etc. and bottling / kegging too!

By the time they can drink legally, making their own recipes is a snap!

Time to start planning your "Celebration Ale!" Let's see... March... How about a Belgian pale or a nice brown?
